Local London based studio Hayhurst and Co. has been chosen to add a two story extension which will be attached to the back of an existing Victorian family home called Hampstead Beach House in North London, Hampstead.
The extension was created for a client’s request to create a more efficient way of optimizing space and creating new rooms for their younger children. The exterior of the extension is covered with white larch, where the window shutters still maintain the same larch wood that blend into the facade, with glass doors that open up to the outdoor garden.
Inside, the ground floor consists of the main living spaces including a kitchen and a dining room. In the center of the house, a double height study room is constructed using plywood.
