Toronto based interior design firm Yabu Pushelberg collaborated with hotelier Ian Schrager and has created a hotel called the London Edition located in the UK. His new addition is part of his Schrager’s series of edition hotels that he created with hotel giant Mariott International.
The hotel is located in the city’s cultural epicenter in a neighborhood in central London, Fitzrovia. The hotel is set in a historical building that was formerly known as the Berners Hotel.
The architects strived to redesign the structure’s interior spaces to combine the old versus the new, history versus the present day. Inspired by the combination of age- old, tradition set against the traditional elements of a sophisticated landmark, the result is an eclectic space that embodies the ambiguous time period of the hotel.
The hotel has 173 intimate rooms, high ceiling public spaces, two bars, meeting rooms, a restaurant, a 24 hour fitness facility as well as a luxuriously paneled lobby.
