Soon you can have your yummy honey-drenched morning Cheerios without feeling guilty (that's a lie, you'll probably still feel guilty that you're not having half a grapefruit).
General Mills have chosen to get with the program and choose health benefits and recent nutrition trends over history and profitable comfort. The company has stated that soon (only) the original Cheerios will be completely free of genetically modified ingredients (GMOs). Already having made the move to using GMO-free oats, Cheerios will now also be using GMO-free cornstarch and sugar as well.
The move came after response to consumer demand for healthier breakfast options. Lets hope all our other favorite cereal brands do the same move, to not only make US happy, but to not be left behind.
