The Crane Light will probably bring to mind the more mechanical kind of crane rather than the living one. That is because the straight, minimalist lines are more conducive to thoughts of inanimate objects. Nevertheless, once a person takes in the details and the way the neck adjusts, the long-necked bird may come to mind more readily.
Designed by product and furniture design student Hyunyoung Park, the Crane Light is made out of a wooden body, steel tripod feet and a steel neck. The Crane Light can be adjusted via the simple bolt and butterfly wing nut that lets the metal neck be customized to most any angle and position. The overall look might be simple, but the green accents and cord detail heightens its presence.
