From Simple Solar-Powered Timepieces to Upcycled Accessories
Tiana Reid — June 14, 2013 — Social Good
This collection of eco-friendly social watches melds and crosses over the triple bottom line. Crudely put, the triple bottom line refers to the three pillars of people, planet and profit and in this case, suggests how an organization measures its success according to those values. While environmentally aware (and potentially greenwashed) timepieces are probably more popular than ones that meld both a social and environmental mission, these here were started by social enterprises and social businesses that attempt to be holistic in their business model and ultimately, their outcome.
Form simple solar-powered timepieces to upcycled accessories, these eco-friendly social watches are typically part of a larger goal and not simply one-time products for the sake of a collaboration with a non-profit, for instance.
