To improve the usability of paper clips, designer Juhyun Lee created the ingenious 'CLIP-UP.' Since Lee found conventional paper clips difficult and painful to use, he decided redesign it. The new clip was built to prevent chipped nails among women.
The CLIP-UP augments the paper clip by making it much easier to slide onto paper. The tip of the clip is raised by 45 degrees and coated in blue plastic in order to remove the need to lift the inner coil. As a result, you can clip a stack of paper together quickly and easily. When a group of people were surveyed about the clip's usability, eight out of 10 people found it more comfortable to use than a regular clip.
