The 8 Bit Lit is Inspired by the Super Mario Game Series
Lacey-Jane Walsh — June 6, 2013 — Art & Design
This clever Kickstarter project is called 8 Bit Lit and is inspired by the Super Mario game series that most of us fell in love with in our youth. The Question Block Lamp is a square yellow light that looks like it was ripped right out of a Super Mario Bros game.
As retro game fans will recall, these 8 bit question blocks were found in the hovering brick walkways in the Super Mario games. The player would get underneath it, jump and unlock a mystery prize of some kind. Turning this light on requires a similar process. consumers have to push a button under the lamp for it to brighten up.
These fantastic gamer lamps tug on the heart strings of NES fans everywhere. There's something about an 8 Bit Lit that just makes you want to collect coins and rescue a princess.
