Turkish government has just recently ruled against all alcohol advertising in the country. Just last month t the end of May, Turkey’s legislative body successfully passed a draconian bill that will ban any and all alcohol advertising and promotion; this will mean TV shows, movies, music videos, print and anything else that promotes the use of alcohol in any way.
The country has also ended the sale of alcoholic beverages between 10 pm and 6 am. This will have a negative effect for many retailers, store owners, agencies and much more; the ban on alcohol advertising is also coming with many other new laws for the country regarding alcohol.
Laws on alcohol advertising in Turkey have been much the same as they are here, marketers are scrambling and the country is in the midst of a cultural change that is a contributing factor to the huge social unrest in the country right now.
