Talk-Only Toddler Cellphones

The '1stFone' is a Cellphone for Kids Ages Four to Nine

— May 15, 2013 — Tech
With kids becoming more and more tech-savvy, it is no surprise that a dedicated cellphone for kids has been invented. The 1stFone is a durable cellphone designed for children between the ages of four and nine to help "connect [a] child with the people they need."

Although it might seem like a step back to take away touch-screen, texting and Internet capabilities, the phone is a clever way to make sure your child can always reach a caretaker in the case of an emergency, with "just a good old fashioned voice call." For ease of use, the phones are pre-programmed with up to 12 numbers chosen by parents upon ordering.

This is a great way to introduce kids to the responsibility of owning a cell phone without having to buy an expensive full-fledged device that needs parental controls and monitored use. There are plenty of colors and styles to choose from and kids will love having their very own little gadget.
