The Arianna Lamp may look like it is made up of a chaotic cluster of thin wood pieces, but it was in fact inspired by a yarn swift, a tool used to hold the material while it is being wound into balls. Incredibly accurate in terms of form, the Arianna Lamp even comes with yarn to add another layer of texture.
Greatly influenced by the Greek myth of Ariadne, which is associated with such a craft, the Arianna Lamp was designed by siblings Michela and Paolo of Italian design firm Baldessari e Baldessari. Created for Pallucco, the Arianna Lamp is made out of cherry wood and can customize to different spaces thanks to its collapsible capabilities.
