In a desperate attempt to save a 77 year old mans life doctors result to treatment with ethanol alcohol. Ronald Aldom had an unusual heart rhythm and was on his death bed, when all of the other treatments were failing, Dr. Tom Johnson pumped pure ethanol into a blood vessel towards the heart. This induced a controlled heart attack and then destroyed the tissue that was causing the irregular heartbeat.
Ronald was suffering from Ventricular tachychardia and was in serious trouble, this treatment is extremely rare and is known as a last resort method. Dr. Johnson said “There was no other option.” Although this was an extremely risky procedure, alcohol literally saved this mans life.
This is the first time that I have heard of alcohol saving a mans life, even know this is a major miracle it doesn't mean that you should use the excuse that alcohol saves lives just so you can drink in excess.
