Splash photography is a remarkable technique used by photographers to capture moments that only ever existed for mere moments; photographer Jack Long plans and executes these paint splash captures over many months.
In this series titled 'Vessels and Blooms' Jack Long created what at first glance appear to be obscurely blooming flower/mushroom hybrids. But what we are actually seeing is a secretive mixture of water, dyes, and thickening agents splashing together and captured at just the right moment.
In order to perfect his splash photography craft Jack spends months toying with the elements used to make these extraordinary paint flowers.
My favorite element of Jacks splash photography is the fact that he is able to utilize color to such a high degree of efficiency. Patience is a virtue clearly possessed by this artist.
