The Colored Pencil Tables by Nendo Designs Are Subtly Hued
Tia Clarke — March 12, 2013 — Art & Design
The 'Colored Pencil Tables' by Nendo Designs come in a range of subtly faded pastel shades which play on the movement towards ombre and dip dye in fashion.
The delicate tables are made using a detailed handmade process which includes bring out the natural grains of the wood through carving. The designers then had the novel idea to place of paper on top and tracing over the newly exposed grains. This method means that some of the color from the pencil is absorbed by the wood, giving it an almost there, almost watercolor-like wash.
The result is a beautifully natural one, that is enhanced even further when a number of the colored tables are placed together. These tables would look great in a modern apartment and could be used a neat coffee table or side-table.
