The Visitor Collection by Judith Jacobi Creatively Addresses Commuting

The Visitor Collection is comprised of furniture designs that address the needs surrounding commuting, travel and communication. But instead of addressing them in a purely practical sense, the Visitor Collection takes a much more creative approach.
Designed by Judith Jacobi, a student at Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule in Halle, Germany, the Visitor Collection consists of three designs. The calendar features a perforated aesthetic that allows the dates to become secondary to the bird-like pegs that represent family members. A map is completed with little moveable compartments to store memories in and a quirky rack serves as a well-prepared nest for arrivals.
With the Visitor Collection in mind, Jacobi writes, "Commuting between one location and another is not about the places itself and neither about logistics and time management. It is rather about the people who are important to us and who care about us. At last we put up with such a double life for our friends and families."
