Argo may have taken best picture at the 2013 Oscars, but that’s only because it wasn’t going up against this hysterical political Christmas movie mashup.
Brilliantly edited and put together by DogFoodFilms, this combination of Christmas movie classic Home Alone and the award winning Argo is a bloody hoot. As Kevin’s parents are boarding their plane to France, the Iranian airport security pulls out all the stops to warn the parents that they’ve left Kevin behind for the Christmas holidays. By setting the whole thing to an intense orchestral soundtrack and using key scenes from the suspenseful climax of Argo, we get a movie mashup that somehow manages to be edge-of-your-seat suspenseful, while also being giddily hilarious.
Next up should be a mashup where Kevin finds himself without his family in the Canadian Embassy in Iran while burglars are trying to break in. That’s a movie I’d pay to see.
