The computer mouse is a pretty ubiquitous device, but that doesn't stop developers from trying to reinvent the wheel like the Mycestro is attempting with its motion controlled mouse.
Unlike most mice that need desk real estate or less accurate touch panel mice found on laptops, the Mycestro is a mouse that functions in a complete 3D space. The device is attached the the user's finger in a way that doesn't impede typing, and the cursor is moved around in a 3D by moving the finger. The device won't input movement until the user touches their thumb to the side of the device, ensuring that the cursor doesn't fly all over the screen when the user is simply typing. The device communicates with the computer using wireless Bluetooth technology. Given that Bluetooth is a widespread standard, the Mycestro will even work with iPods and smartphones.
