Vans is hosting the nationwide Custom Culture competition to raise awareness for the importance of art in high schools. The competition encourages high school students to get their creative juices flowing by designing their own Vans shoes.
This year's competition is supported by a lot of big name celebrities including Emma Roberts, Conan O'Brien, Gillian Zinser, Jamie Chung, Josie Maran, Nicky Hilton and Tiffani Thiessen, who have all designed their own shoes to help support the initiative.
Unfortunately, once the funding decreases in educational institutions, art classes are the first to get cut. Therefore Vans' initiative in developing of the art programs is a well-worth effort and noble.
The contest is joined by thousands of students all over the United States, and the winner of the competition is to receive $50,000 towards their art program in their high school.
