My favorite trend would have to be the LED craze. This glowing LED wedding gown Aurora LED dress by Cute Circuit is an example of this. It looks like a party in a dress. It has 10,000 lights embedded in it as well as a quadrillion crystals, so it's pretty cool.
How do you define cool?
I define cool as anything that intrigues you, which is anything that you want to run and tell your friends about. This includes an individual thing, but it also has the potential to have mass appeal.
What is your secret to uncovering trends?
My secret to uncovering my best trends is that I don't have a secret. I spend so much time on the Internet that they kind of randomly fall on my lap.
What is a prominent trend you see becoming popular in the future?
One of the trends I see blowing up in the future is upcycled products, which is basically an environmentally friendly way to take recycled objects, things like labels, pop cans and the like and turning them into new products. It is a cool way to save the environment.
What's your favorite accomplishment?
My favorite accomplishment to date was getting the Trend Hunter internship, which to me was huge. I was so excited about it because I was working in the business world, but I knew I wanted to venture into journalism, social media and digital media in general. It was such a great stepping stone for my career.
What inspires or excites you?
World events are what inspires me. Everything from Occupy Wall Street to the events going on in the Middle East. It has really opened my eyes to the world of journalism and really given me an appreciation for those journalists who put their lives on the line to bring a story to life.
In what remarkable way do you see businesses changing?
A remarkable way that I see businesses changing is the way that they are embracing social media. Everything is about engagement and getting the consumer involved with the product and the brand.

My favorite thing about working at Trend Hunter is that it is a very lively and fun atmosphere. There is never a dull moment. It's a very work had, play hard atmosphere and that's what I love about it.
