With the recent software update for Instagram 3.0 and the widely succesful Rich Kids of Instagram Tumblr, a lot of smart phone users are flocking to the popular photo sharing application to see what all the buzz is about.
While using vintage filters on photographs is nothing new, it is new in the sense that now, anyone can do it -- it doesn’t take a master at Photoshop to create vintage-looking photographs. Instagram, which was recently bought out by powerhouse company Facebook, has been a force to be reckoned with and companies are starting to take notice.
Magazines, clothing lines, photographers and art retailers are now using vintage filters in their photo shoots, in their magazines and in their work to bring in more sales. It’s an approach that seems to be working and will continue to grow.
