Fishing enthusiast DeMarr Zimmerman shares his story about how he got his life back on track in this shift in direction keynote. Ever since he was a kid DeMarr was passionate about fishing. His dreams revolved around the different places he could go fish and his motivation stemmed from his life of fishing.
At the age of 42 Zimmerman was broken in regards to his mental, physical and financial state. He was mentally broken because he felt as if all his endeavors had failed. He was 100 lbs overweight and buried in so much debt that he had to borrow from his kids
After becoming employed by his friend, DeMarr began to fish again and all his passions and dreams from childhood came coming back. After hearing the advice on a self-help tape about changing one's direction in life Demarr began to implement small changes to address the various areas he felt were broken. Those little changes were enough to set his direction on a new path, one that got him out of debt, back in shape and back to himself.
