'Tarp Pit' Shows How Surfing Doesn't Need to Be at the Beach
Kevin Young — June 5, 2012 — Art & Design
'Tarp Pits' is a video showing how Dodge Weirath and Wyatt Brady spends their time during leisurely activities.
The boys in the video uses a tarp to surf, making it seem as if they were riding huge waves on the beach. They use a skateboard to replace a surf board and ride the 'wave' that depicts a wall of water. It takes two to make this work as one rides while the other pulls the tarp to produce a wave-like effect.
This six minute short evokes a light-hearted and fun approach to teach viewers what Tarp Pits is. The boys first got the idea of riding the Tarp Pits when a gush of wind sent a tarp off a boat. Who said you needed the beach to surf?
