The Huginn and Muninn Sauna by AtelierForte is inspired by Nordic myths and their description of ravens. Overlooking the hills of Piacenza, Italy, this bold structure resembles a perched bird, looking out into the distance. Artist and architect Duilio Forte, creating this off-kilter design, focusing on sharp angular elements and a geometric design accents, made to mirror avian wings.
Translated into ‘thought’ and ‘memory’, the Huginn and Muninn Sauna is titled after the mythical creatures that inspired its design. The architecture piece is constructed from fir wood and is heated from a wooden stove. Seating up to two people, the sensational space lets visitors work up a sweat while taking in the beauty of their surrounding landscape.
