Quirky 70s Collections

Diane Keaton Inspires the Boy by Band of Outsiders Pre-Fall Collection

— December 23, 2011 — Pop Culture
Boy by Band of Outsiders’ designer Scott Sternberg has found inspiration for his Pre-Fall 2012 collection in Diane Keaton’s wardrobe from Woody Allen’s 1979 film Manhattan.

Although Sternberg is LA-based, Keaton’s character Mary’s wardrobe is all about 1970s New York City, and that is apparent in the collection.

While her wardrobe in Manhattan is a bit of a subdued version of her own fashion sense, it serves well as the inspiration for the Boy by Band of Outsiders pre-fall 2012 collection.

Keaton’s personal style has long been inspiring, but her style in the 70s in particular continues to inspire fashionistas everywhere attempting to tackle the menswear look, with Annie Hall becoming almost synonymous with the chic, tomboy look that truly is timeless.
