Combining holiday spirit with online shopping is a marketing strategy that most brands try to pursue, and right now with Ralph Lauren catalog greeting cards they have done exactly that. Their e-cards feature the models moving in and out of their frame (very Harry Potter-esque) and they come back in with a letter. The letters in each frame spell out a greeting of your choice. The marketing seed in here is that the the price of the clothing on the models are also displayed. In effect, Ralph Lauren is combining both e-cards and its catalog.
The initiative has been done with the brand's Rugby line and is fun and interactive. This is a new idea and it will interesting to see how the Ralph Lauren catalog greeting cards effect sales.
