Hedi Slimane's 'California Song' exhibition is the latest work of former star designer of Dior Homme, depicting facets of youth culture in beautiful black and white photography. Now an extremely influential photographer, Slimane will have his work showcased from November 12th to Januarry 22nd at the Museaum of Contemporary Art in California.'California Song' displays his photos from the Frenchmen's first arrival in California in 2007 and marked by very high contrast. The experience is augmented by the music of 'No Age,' local talent in California. Even though he was one of the most influential men's fashion designers, his work as a photographer is having an impact.
"Hedi Slimane has created a new and fresh visual language for youth today," said MOCA Director Jeffrey Deitch. "His black-and-white images capture the essential expression of the emerging art, fashion, and music scenes around the world."
