The Blood Pack of Santa Claus Gives the Gift of Life
Meghan Young — November 8, 2011 — Special
Instead of stuffing Christmas stockings with some candy, knick knacks and thingy-ma-jiggys, why not stuff it with the gift of life thanks to the Blood Pack of Santa Claus? Ok, this might not be a traditional Christmas stocking, but it shakes people out of their holiday daze long enough to realize that giving doesn't have to involve spending tons of money on material things.
Designed by Kiseung Lee, a designer based in Helsinki, the Blood Pack of Santa Claus encourages people to give blood, on its most basic level. Debuting during Helsinki Design Week, it also works to open people's eyes and minds to the bigger picture. Christmas is a time for giving, but it has turned into a commercialized event. This design works against that.
