Although this much-beloved confection has been an under-the-table breakfast treat for quite some time, the always delicious doughnut has finally been legitimized as a start of the day edible thanks to these Banana Walnut Breakfast Doughnuts. What makes these an acceptably breakfast item? Well, for one thing they have breakfast in the title, so you know it’s okay. They are also baked as opposed to deep-fried and last time I checked, bananas and cream cheese were common side kicks at the breakfast table. I thought this day would never come, but finally, you can eat doughnuts for breakfast and not be ridiculed! 

These breakfast-friendly creations were crafted by Laurie from the food blog Simply Scratch. The doughnuts themselves are a variation on banana bread dipped in a delicious cream cheese glaze and topped with a sprinkling of nutrient-rich walnuts. Okay, so it may not be the healthiest choice on the planet, but let’s face it, if you get into your head to eat a doughnut first thing in the morning, come hell or high water you’re going to eat that doughnut, so you might as well choose the healthier version.

Sweet, luscious and totally irresistible, these Banana Walnut Breakfast Doughnuts make the most important meal of the day a whole different story than what it was.
