As with every other year, Champagne Birthday was celebrated on August 6th in Balaklava, Russia. However, this year is particularly notable as the event organizers decided to smash, not break, but smash the Guinness World Record for the largest champagne glass.
The custom-built champagne flute measured an astonishing 1.5 meters in height and it took more than 75 bottles to adequately fill it. Unsurprisingly, the single glass of bubbly was enough to inebriate most, if not all of Champagne Birthday's attendants.
In the past few years, it's become increasingly obvious that to break a Guinness World Record live is perhaps the most effective publicity stunt. In order to attract the thousands of visitors to their sponsors and affiliates, the organizers of Champagne Birthday spent a penance on the appropriate bottles and nevertheless captured the attention of millions!
