Tomi Drills Holes Into Planks of Wood for Photo Realistic Artistry

Halftones are famously used in comic books and Roy Lichtenstein artwork, but those pieces were produced on paper whereas these Tomi creations are done on planks of wood. By drilling holes of various sizes into the wood, Tomi is able to establish value and shapes, ultimately chiseling these realistic images that may as well be photographs when seen from a far enough distance.
The Tomi halftone carving featuring the face of a little boy was made as a birthday gift for his little brother. I'm not to sure what his brother will give him in return on his birthday...
