Thorunn Arnadottir's QR U? Collection Has a Tribal Influence

The adoption of QR Codes into design and fashion may not be new, but the QR U? collection definitely puts a unique twist on it. Instead of a traditional graphic print that can usually be scanned, these fashion pieces have actually been beaded. With this medium, the QR U? collection makes more of a statement on technology and social media rather than being a part of it.

Designed and created by Thorunn Arnadottir, who hails from Iceland but is currently based in London, the QR U? collection was inspired by African beadcraft. Using Swarovski crystals, the QR U? collection takes a rather luxury stance in regards to this type of technology, while showing how social networks have become "online tribes" in the real world. Surprisingly enough, the QR U? pieces actually do take you the brand's associated website, despite being beaded.
