The International Campaign to Ban Landmines may be pretty self-explanatory, but what isn't as intuitive are the actual statistics that have inspired this hugely important ad campaign. As it states in each ad, "In 66 countries landmines are a part of everyday life." More than that, 26,000 innocent people fall victim to landmines each year, which means 71 people die each day. This is something the campaign hopes to bring to light for many people.
Conceived by Cape Town-based agency Saatchi & Saatchi, the International Campaign to Ban Landmines print ads really drive home the message; they put first world residents in the shoes of third world survivors.
