Mark di Suvero's Largest Outdoor Exhibit at the Governors Island

— June 22, 2011 — Art & Design
American sculptor Mark di Suvero's biggest outdoor sculpture exhibition to date is currently taking place at Governors Island in New York City. Made up of 11 heavy-duty, industrial artworks that span over three decades, these abstract pieces will surely draw a crowd.

Presented by the Storm King Art Center and curated by Storm King Director and Curator David Collens, Mark di Suvero's impressive body of work were made using large-scale cast-offs from architecture and heavy industry.

In an effort to celebrate more art throughout the city, Mark di Suvero's exhibit is actually open to the public for free. Running until September 25, 2011, it offers a great excuse to explore more of New York while brushing up on some sculptural knowledge.
