Social Media Yearbook Stereotypes

Social Media High School Class of 2011 is an Amusing Infographic

— March 30, 2011 — Pop Culture
Graduating from high school is oftentimes a major life milestone, but this hilarious infographic by Flowtown, entitled Social Media High School Class of 2011, takes that iconic landmark and hurls it into the bizarre, crowded and highly competitive realm of Web 2.0 networking platforms.

Featuring all of big names of the web-savvy world, Flowtown’s Social Media High School Class of 2011 infographic humorously pulls no punches and makes no apologies in its lampooning of everyone from YouTube to Wordpress. In fact it assigns each social media network platform a iconic high school stereotype complete with their clubs and favorite quote, and while some like the “jock” (Facebook) signify greatness and success, others such as the “Wannabe” (MySpace) are entirely less flattering.

From Digg (the ex-best friend) to LinkedIn (the class president), this thoroughly amusing satire of web 2.0 platforms couldn’t be more spot-on. Well played Flowtown, well played.
