Ben Heine's peculiar portraits in his Digital Circlism series are wicked pixel-like images. Digital Circlism is a technique that Ben Heine is currently developing. He describes this type of artwork as a crossbreed between pop art and pointilism.
Using digital tools, Ben Heine creates the images of iconic pop culture figures from characters in a movie to famous singers, actors and actresses. Using Photoshop CS4, Ben Heine begins by placing individual circles on a black background. His process and long and delicate as he slightly changes the sizes of the circles to create a better artistic expression. The challenge is not to duplicate a circle in shape and color, which becomes harder as the images he creates sometimes utilizes several thousands of circles.
