Lisa Jones an Australian designer created a collection of chairs called Symbiosis. Working with wood, steel and sometimes silicone, her chairs appear to be inspired by all things internal, that is, the organs inside of the human body.
Two of her chairs are entitled "Vasa Intestina". Vasa means vessel and intestina... well, reminds us of intestines. These two are made from wood and steel.
Some of her other work include a chair she named "Breath" which suggests the bronchial tubes of lungs. The one entitled "Gland" is one that features two different colored halves of the chair made from wood, steel, felt and thread. This chair displays stitched textures.
