Saadia Zahidi, Director of Constituents for World Economic Forum, reveals the biggest surprise seen in global gender gaps. She reveals that, though 96% of health gaps and 93% of education have been closed, only 59% of economic participation only 13% of political empowerment gap. As a global average, women are becoming as healthy and as educated as men but are still unable to participate in the economy and decision making.
Though we are making progress as a gender, there is still work to be done. Zahidi presents an optimistic view on the closing of these gender gaps, stating that even the countries ranked lowest when it comes to women's development are gaining momentum as the most improved nations thanks to funding towards educational programs.
From educational training to positions of power women may have come a long way but still have a long way to go.
