During this PSFK Conference NYC 2012, Brooklyn-based artist Steve Powers shows how to make the most of every day in this art-focused keynote. Considering each day to be a blank slate is a concept that has endless possibilities, and Powers speaks to the fact that the artist can do what they want with it by giving the idea form and boundaries. People should be creatively filling pages daily on whatever canvas they have.
It is the mission of creative minds to put something on canvas because, as Powers believes, time is running out, so people must express themselves whenever they can whether it be for five minutes or an hour. Our conversations of the day is what should be on each slate. Each piece is an outlet to tell stories ,and Powers uses his own public and private art works as examples, from his love-letters to the neighborhoods or “Daily Metaltation.”
