Freelance writer and editor based in the artsy town of Nelson British Columbia. I am nestled here with my love, who is also an artist. He works with rusted metal, and I am lucky to have my walls ever-changing, as we use our house as storage until he takes out his next set. He’s a nice fella, and so are our 4… yep, count em…  4 cats. Not something we ever intended, but happy to have regardless. I think they like us too.

Before I freelanced as a writer, I was a clothing designer. I still design for myself and maintain my obsession with the latest trends, but I no longer work 18 hour days, 7 days a week. No, now I work 12 hour days, 6 days a week. So much better.

I write, edit and chase contracts from my kitchen table, close to my garden and the gorgeous mountain view. Typically, this tends to distract me until crunch time when I then channel out all the madness into print.

Or I go to the busiest cafe when I find it’s time to start seeing other humans and experience life around me. I can really put my head down and focus at the Oso through the chatter, the steaming of the lattes and the young kids stoked to be treated with hot chocolates and cookies.
