Should I use my real name or something funky?
This is up to you. Our general advice is that if you want to enhance your career, then using your real name is better. Also, your portfolio will be optimized for search engines, so if you use your name, people are more likely to find your Trend Hunter Portfolio.
How often can I change my Portfolio username / URL?
You can change your portfolio name, but you should try not to change it because search engines will get confused when trying to list your portfolio and you won’t show up as high in the rankings.
How do I change my profile / the text on the bottom of my site?
In your personal profile / control panel, update your bio. This will automatically appear on the bottom of each page.
Why do my trends appear on a different page / NOT in my portfolio?
This is actually the beauty of Trend Hunter. To ensure popularity of your trend posts, we use just one URL for each trend. As a result, other bloggers all link to the same page, and you get more traffic.
How do I add my picture?
In your personal profile / control panel, upload an avatar. The avatar should be a jpg file up to 100 pixels x 100 pixels. Ideally, it will be a black and white of your portrait. If you have contributed at least 10 trends, you can send us your picture and we will convert to black and white and adjust the picture for you.
How do I change my portfolio’s colors / font / background?
You can adjust all of your settings in your personal profile / control panel. Have fun with it!
Why don’t I see changes when I make them?
All pages on our server are cached for up to an hour. They won’t update until a new trend is posted or until the new hour. This helps make your portfolio and Trend Hunter run faster.
How do I customize my portfolio even more?
We are constantly adding new functionality. Drop us an email and let us know what you want to do. Maybe you’ll have a great idea that will be great for all of our Trend Hunters!
