I'm a pastor at a church that is doing a lot of this type of thing. I think it's a micro-advertising thing that is quite effective. Most people will want to see a service online before wanting to come to your church in person. And you can do it really simply with ustream.tv, a video camera, and a decent web connection. Two side benefits: - People who can't leave the house (for whatever reason) can watch. - Lots of people from all over the world watch. Not sure "why" but it is interesting.
