Aww a school for people like me? Only 10 years too late...and in a country that I do not call home. However there is a huge difference between western otaku and the traditional Japanese otaku. I would know being a phantom one and all. A Japanese otaku is a very generalized term meaning "obsessive fan" and from there it gets broken down to Anime, sci fi, ect. The context in western culture is more specific in that...well, its an "obsessive fan" of Anime, Video games, J-music, and Japanese (pop) culture.

This is cool...but the word "transmitter" is odd to me. Yes, its transmitting light signals to the optic nerve but where else is it transmitting too? A spy satellite perhaps? Or maybe even YouTube; they will start a live streaming service soon I hear. I want to help the blind but I'm sure the espionage community is excited about this as well.
